The picture of the grooming kit includes a pottery oil lamp, and a copper alloy bowl, but does not show a mortar. Do you have any references you can share for the mortar with makeup residue?
Good catch. I thought the mortar was in this image, but evidently it's not. The reference to the mortar was pulled from the book "Nous les Appelons Vikings" which was a french translation of the Swedish National Museum's traveling exhibition, and unfortunately I left that book behind in the US when I moved. I'll have to do some digging to find it. Apologies.
